Op de een of andere manier werd ik net wakker met een flinke kater. En dan heb ik het niet over een vriendje van mijn poes, maar zo’n gevoel in je hoofd. Typerend voor de zondag, je kent het vast wel. Even goed nadenken… Wat is de aanstichter van dit gevoel? Dat kan meer een ding zijn : ons eerste echte kebab uitje! Oh oh oh, wat een dag was dat weer.
Ik begon de dag gister iet wat chagrijnig maar dat zou al snel als sneeuw voor de zon verdwijnen, iets dat over de mist niet gezegd kan worden. Mijn kebabcollega’s schoven mij een biertje toe en de reis kon beginnen.
Eerst dus naar de onderhand redelijk bekende kraam op de Dappermarkt waar we dus echt een top broodje aten. Er was aandacht aan besteed, er zaten extra’s op, het was een broodje zoals een broodje hoort te zijn. Het broodje zelf zou misschien wat groter mogen zijn of wat minder gevuld (komt dit uit mijn mond?) aangezien de eerste happen met behulp van een vorkje genomen diende te worden. Ach, niet zeuren, het is slechts een luxeprobleem. Het broodje werd weggespoeld met wat bier en nadat Bas zijn geest weer wat verruimd had konden we onze weg vervolgen richting ons volgende doel.
Het plan om nu ieder een eigen zaak te gaan testen was snel gemaakt, en aangezien ik hoge nood had dook ik snel een tent binnen. Broodje besteld en gelijk richting wc. Hierdoor heb ik geen aandacht kunnen besteden aan de bereidingswijze, nou ja, jammer dan. Toen ik met een lege blaas de wc verliet (wel keurig handjes gewassen, meneer Beton? Jazeker.) was mijn broodje al klaar. Mooie snelle service dus. het broodje was voor de twee en een halve euro die het me gekost heeft goed. Niets speciaals maar ook niet slecht, gewoon een mooi broodje om de honger te stillen. Zo standaard als een hamburger van de McDonalds zeg maar. Ik had ook niet anders verwacht eigenlijk, en na de Dappermarkt zou het ook lastig worden de boel nog te toppen. Heb het broodje keurig opgegeten, iets dat niet van iedereen gezegd kan worden.
Nadat we alle drie ons broodje op hadden hebben we nog wat lopen slenteren, maar dat heb je al kunnen lezen. De zaak waar ik dus ooit mijn eerste broodje kebab gegeten heb viel tegen, maar ik vond het toch grappig daar weer eens te zijn, op de plek waar het ooit voor mij allemaal begonnen is. Na nog enige tijd bij een bekende kebabzaak voor het raam gestaan te hebben besloten we dat we toch niet echt honger meer hadden, en het mooi geweest was.
De nabeschouwing heeft me uiteindelijk denk ik de das om gedaan, het werd nog laat, we hadden nog een boel te bespreken en veel te drinken. Toen ik naar huis waggelde lag Peter met een gelukzalige glimlach op een bank te slapen, een mooie afsluiter.
