Afgelopen zondag liet ik mij in het dorpje Purmerend verleiden tot het eten van een broodje shoarma. Iedere kebabeter weet dat broodjes shoarma over het algemeen kut zijn. De broodjes zijn te klef en klein en ze vragen zonder blikken of blozen meestal het dubbele van een broodje kebab.
Maar goed, als er ‘Ferid, the godfather in shoarma’ op de kaart staat en je al sinds je wakker bent een enorme trek hebt in stukken dood dier dan wil je je principes wel eens overboord zetten. Nou, dat heb ik geweten. Vijf euro lichter voor één miezerig broodje en een bergje vlees.
Het vlees, de saus en het broodje waren best aardig. In ieder geval beter dan de koude sprare-ribs die mijn tafelgenoot kreeg. Maar mij zal je in deze toko niet meer terug zien…
