Dit jaar heb ik de pèrejour in Parijs doorgebracht. Voor mijn werk. Daarbij loop ik standaard een rondje onder de Eifel toren en langs de Seine. Goed voor de conditie.
Op de pèrejour viel dat tegen. Ik was een klein beetje vergeten dat het EK voetbal was. Daar heb ik namelijk helemaal niets mee.
Om over het Champs de Mars te lopen moet je langs de Fan Zone. Nu laat ik me rondje niet zomaar afpakken, dus enthousiast ging ik de strijd aan met de mensen die aan “herhaald fouilleren” deden. Met Adidas als hoofdsponsor ging dat heel goed (ja, je hoort hier jeugdtrauma’s), en zo bevond ik mij na een halfuurtje op het terrein voor fans.
Wat moet je daar dan? Heel veel hekken en bewaking en, omdat ik iets van de sport had gezien op het journaal, vroeg ik “Où sont les Ou-li-gans”, want een cage fight tussen de russen leek me gelet op alle hekken en bewaking waarschijnlijk. Dat viel tegen. Het hek was vooral om het publiek een rapper te scheiden. Deze man wist in één lied de Franse taal, het Franse Chanson en het genre rap omzeep te helpen. Gelukkig stond er een saxofonist naast hem die af en toe een stukje jazz speelde als de rapper zonder tekst zat.
Het hooligannen was dus niets, en ook het voetbal tussen twee meisjesteams kon niemand boeien. Dankzij de optredens van de Engelse en Russische fans mag er geen alcohol meer worden geschonken. In Nederland zou dat duidelijk zijn, in Frankrijk is dat rekkelijk. Wijn is geen alcoholhoudende drank, dat is volksdrank. En dus kan bier ook, zolang het door een officiële sponsor wordt verkocht.
Ik had vooral honger. En zowaar, daar was een kebabzaak. Nu weet je in een UEFA fan-zone twee dingen zeker: je wordt belazerd (uit respect voor Sep Blatter en Michael Platini) en je krijgt niet wat je wil.
Wat het eerste betreft: met begon met het verdubbelen van een acceptbele prijs (van € 4 naar € 8, en men stelde 2 vragen, die uiteraard goed waren voor €1 per vraag).
Het broodje was “Sandwich Poule, Kebab Style”. Net als de rap van de Franse zanger lijkt dat dus op geen enkele manier op het product waar deze site aan gewijd is.
Wat ik wel kreeg: een klein stokbroodje, dat Frans en verrassend vers was, een blaadje sla en gebakken vlees. De kip was prima, de ketchup ok, en de kaas die er over gesmolten was deed het prima. De relatie met feta was er niet.
Dus, voor een goede maaltijd betaal je hier €30-40. Gelukkig had ik weinig honger en kon ik het doen met dit broodje van €10.
Er is geen waardering, het Broodje Kebab Style blijkt niet te uit te drukken in een aantal schapen. Weet je wat, ik geef er een toastje Foi Gras voor, gemaakt van Ou-li-Gans.
Een adres geef ik ook niet, maar let op de foto: bij dat autootje kan je een smakelijk klein broodje eten, maar betaal je je blauw.
