De oplettende lezer heeft enige tijd terug waarschijnlijk al opgemerkt dat ik vorige maand wederom de hoofdstad van Oostenrijk heb aangedaan. Ditmaal voor zaken. Erg saai maar gelukkig was er genoeg tijd om de lokale kebabeteria’s te testen.
Wenen kwam tijdens eerdere bezoeken altijd nogal saai over. Totdat ik ineens een zijuitgang van station Westbahnhof nam en in een ‘Berlijnse’ straat terecht kwam: overal eettenten met worst, pizza en kebab, een Penny Market en slecht onderhouden oude gebouwen.
Na de eerste zakelijke bespreking ben ik meteen de eerste de beste kebabzaak ingestapt die ik tegen kwam en kreeg dit broodje voorgeschoteld. Een Berlijnse straat met Berlijnse prijzen, €2,50, maar daar houdt de vergelijking wel een beetje op.
De verdeling van de sla en vlees was dik in orde, de saus zat vooral vooraan. Het vlees was standaard, de sla vers en de saus fris. Maar zoals te zien is, is het broodje erg karig belegd.
Ook de andere tentjes in de Mariahilfer Strasse serveren geen broodjes van uitzonderlijke kwaliteit. Maar je kunt er gerust een broodje vlees halen, alleen verwacht geen Berlijnse toestanden…
