Het was inderdaad ergens eind vorig jaar op een feestje dat ik…oh, ik weet het alweer! Het was bij een maat van ons die teringveel bbq’ed thuis dat Jan beton en ik bekokstoofden eens een tripje te doen naar het KebabWalhalla.
Mn saldo was enigszins gestegen omdat mn vader dood was gegaan en al dat soort crap. Kan je net zo goed iets leuks doen met je knaken toch?
En waarom niet even op en neer naar Berlijn voor een hapje en een drankje?
Zo gezegd zo gediggydaan!
Van tevoren had ik een aantal zaken op het oog die in alle top tiens van Google stonden. Omdat geen smartphone, had ik een zooi A4tjes bij me met alle routes en adressen…en, het was nogal een kluif. Het zou top zijn als we daar een flinke deuk in konden vreten.
Om eerlijk te zijn, kwam het door het missen van die chili cheese döner van Kottiwood (report HIERRRRRR) dat de droom om die soldaat te maken niet meer uit mn hoofd verdween.
Zoals Jan al aangaf was het een rustige reis heen. Er werden enkele biertjes genuttigd en wat varianten van routes doorgesproken.
Eenmaal gesettled konden we de straat op om te gaan huishouden!
In de Hauptstrasse bevinden zich twee toko’s die we moesten bezoeken; Ruyam en Imren.
Die Imren doneerde ik aan Jan, want daar had ik eens iets over gepend toen we in 2017 daar waren (een andere vestiging, dat wel). Hij moest de smaak gewoon even ervaren en aan zn report te zien was dat geen miskleun. Moet ik nu hierbij vermelden dat de kebabtent naast coffeeshop Superfly in Hoofddorp bijna dezelfde smaaksensatie geeft? Te laat, ik heb het al gedaan.
Ik ging zelf voor Ruyam, waar ik goede vibes van kreeg via het wereldwijde web.
We moeten hier wellicht iets verduidelijken.
Mustafa’s Gemusekebap is meesterlijk. Inmiddels hebben meer lui hier lucht van gekregen en zie je veel meer tenten die dit soort kebab aan de man brengen.
Gemusekebabs heb je niet in Nederland (Dappermarkt komt het dichtst in de buurt) dus we krijgen allemaal collectief een stijve als we zo’n etablissement bezoeken.
MAARRRR….het vlees is in 100% van de gemusekebabs kip (makkelijk en goedkoop).
ENNNNN…de gemusevulling kan vrij snel voor een vol gevoel zorgen/neemt de smaak van de kebabkruiden aan..het is een beetje verneukeratief zeg maar. Het is teringlekker, maar als je een berg vlees wilt eten, kan je beter ‘gewone’ broodjes kebab scoren.
Zo dat uit de weg, op naar het eigenlijke report!
Ruyam, hauptstrasse 133; een fantastische rol waar je duidelijk de paprika in ziet zitten. Handgemaakt alles.
Goed personeel ook. Vriendelijk, snel en professioneel.
Op je bon staat je nummer, dat nummertje verschijnt op een schermpie als je shit klaar is.
Heel die tent is ondergebombt door tevreden eters en andere lui die rondlopen met schrijfgerei. Aansprekelijk.
Je kan er zitten onder de plastic luifel, maar wij gingen voor de meeneem.
Ik tikte 3.90 af, wat een superprijs is voor het culinaire geweld dat hier plaatsvindt.
Godsamme jongens, dit is toch wel even een heel serieus broodje kebab hoor!!
Ik ga hier niet opsommen wat erin zit, dat mogen je ogen voor je uitmaken.
Ik ga hier wel vertellen dat dit een fucking goed broodje is.
Die speciale Berlijnse saus zat erin en die kickt ass! Die hebben ze gejat van Mustafa, maar goed…Mustafa heeft vast geen patent erop.
Ik moet altijd denken aan zo’n zakkie dipsaus voor je chips..je weet wel, Festival, Bourguignonne, die zooi?? Maar dan Madras.
Jongens jongens wat een feest in je mond!
Hier ga ik de volgende keer zeker weer heen..oh nee, dan gaan we naar de Hermannstrasse waar zeker 12 tenten achter elkaar zaten, maar dat is voor een volgende trip.
