Afgelopen donderdag. De zon scheen en… en mijn geheugen laat me even in de steek. Voor dit verslag moet ik namelijk vier broodjes terug denken. Oh ja, ik kwam uit school en had honger. Dan gaat dit verslag zelfs over afgelopen dinsdag. In ieder geval… de zon scheen en ik had honger. Aan de wandel en op zoek naar een broodje.
Ik heb inmiddels alweer een paar toko’s ontdekt waar ik nog geen report over heb geschreven. Bovenaan mijn verlanglijstje stond toch wel Kosebasi. Een Turks restaurant aan de Marnixlaan. Na het bezoeken van hun website had ik meteen het idee dat deze mensen weten waar ze mee bezig zijn. Van binnen is het dan ook echt een restaurant. Zeer netjes ingericht. Alles staat klaar om even flink te tafelen. Aangezien de zon dus heerlijk scheen ging ik voor het afhaal broodje dat lopend verorBert zou worden. 4,50 euro koste dit. Een mes ging over het bijzonder mooi ogende en duidelijk zelf gestapelde spit. Vervolgens mocht dit vlees nog even in een pan onder de grill. Een Turks meisje kwam vanuit een andere ruimte het brood brengen. Een paar minuten later mocht ik mijn “ja alles” antwoord geven en werd het tijd voor een smakelijke wandeling naar het station. Kosebasi maakt enkel gebruik van de standaard producten die een broodje kebab nodig heeft. Brood, vlees, sla, tomaat, komkommer, knoflook en sambal. Hetgeen je eet is echter verre van standaard. Het eerste wat mij opviel is dat ze je hier een behoorlijk unit verkopen. Het brood kwam niet onder de grill vandaan maar leek alsof het net was gebakken. Heerlijk vers met een knapperig randje. Het groenvoer was vers en niet overmatig aanwezig. De knoflook fris en sambal pittig zoals je van sambal mag verwachten. Tot zover de bijproducten. Het vlees was heerlijk! Godsamme wat een goed spit hebben ze hier hangen. Zelden kom ik zaken tegen waar ze een dergelijke kwaliteit vlees voorschotelen. Ik werd er echt blij van en liep met een big smile met mijn broodje over de Amsterdamsestraatweg. Iets wat sommige mensen vreemd deed kijken. Er zijn maar weinig zaken die met een standaard receptuur zo’n goed broodje weten neer te zetten en van mij een pluim krijgen. Kosebasi komt er zeker mee weg. Een zeer goed broodje!
