Vorig jaar was beter. Niet qua jaar, zo ongeveer alles wat er kon veranderen in mijn leven is veranderd, inclusief haarkleur. Niet dat het laatste in mijn geval nou zo drastisch is, maar goed, ander leven, andere Delicatesther. Nou nee, dat ook weer niet helemaal. Laat maar, laat ik maar gewoon schrijven wat ik bedoel: het is weer top vijf tijd. Vorig jaar kon ik me uitlaten over de meest misselijkmakende ziekteverwekkende broodjes ‘kebab’ die ik had voorgeschoteld gekregen. Dit jaar is mijn kebab ervaring aanzienlijk beter geweest, maar dat zorgt toch ook weer voor een minder interessant verhaal. Vandaar: vorig jaar was beter. Toch ga ik jullie gewoon mededelen waar je lekkere kebab kon halen dit jaar. Daar gaat deze website immers over, niet waar?

1.Antalya Kebab, Boedapest
Biefstuk. Vriendelijke, enthousiaste eigenaar. Terrasje. Goedkoop. Bijzondere groenten en saus. Zonneschijn. Ok, misschien is dat laatste niet helemaal hun verdienste, maar dat ga ik er gewoon toch bij rekenen. Hier kom ik komend jaar gewoon terug.
2. Nazar Döner Huis, Zwolle
Grote, schone tent. Een uitbater die op de Turkse variant Mario van Nintendo lijkt. Heel veel extra’s. Gewoon kebab zoals je het wil zien. Prijs aan de dure kant, maar dat is het waard.
3. Orkide, Utrecht
Hij is al vaker langs gekomen op de site, maar ik kan hem dan eindelijk ook zelf een keer noemen. De Orkide. Alweer: prijzig, maar dat is kebab sowieso hier in het centrum van Nederland. Eindelijk een tent die zonder schaamte een product mag aanbieden wat ze ‘kebab’ noemen. De gegrilde groente waren een aangename afwisseling van de standaard.
4. Tevfik’s Place Döner Kebab, Apeldoorn
Apeldoorn; één van mijn verassingen 2011. Op de Nieuwstraat zijn verscheidene kebabzaken te vinden die met elkaar, in ieder geval op dat moment, in prijsoorlog waren. Toffe stad, lekkere kebab, en goed te betalen. Aanrader.
5. Utreg Döner
€4 voor een net bovengemiddeld broodje. Heeft de lijst gehaald omdat hij wat mij betreft perfect geplaatst is (centrum Utrecht, tegenover de Hema op de Steenweg) en de sambal lekker pittig is. Daarnaast vind ik de naam gewoon tof.
Zo, dat was hem weer. Gelukkig nieuwjaar iedereen, dat 2012 maar veel smakelijke dode Turkse lammetjes met Griekse kaas mag brengen.
