Al jaren zat het me dwars. De menukaart met het gerecht Spaghetti Kebab voor het “café” Oh! Ma Mie! onder de rook van de Eifeltoren en op de hoek van de straat waar ik vaak werk.
Omdat een mens toch moet lunchen ben ik er nu eindelijk eens binnen gestapt.
Ik houd van spaghetti, vooral als-ie niet slap is. Met zo’n lekker tomaten-uien sausje. En van kebab.
De zaak is 100% Italiaans. Pizza’s, pasta’s, you name it. De prijzen zijn laag, en de bediening is vriendelijk en snel. Als ik Spaghetti Kebab heb uitgesproken snelt de ober weg. Hij moet wel, want de grote zaak puilt uit. Zowel door de vele zittende klanten als de groep baliekluivers en afhalers. Gelukkig hebben ze ook een terras, dat zelfs nu eind januari deels bezet is.
Binnen enkele minuten staat de Spaghetti Kebab voor me.
De recensie is nu snel klaar. Een prima spaghetti met veel spekkies is mijn deel. Zelfs de varkensschilfers waren Italiaans gekruid. Alleen de fromage ontbrak wat mij betreft.
Wil je ooit eens eenvoudig Italiaans eten: dit is je kans. Italianen zijn een volk met een beroemde keuken en alles wat beweegt kunnen ze op een pizza bakken. Of door de pasta roeren. Maar wel onder hun eigen voorwaarden en met hun eigen kruiden.
Dat de Turken ook een beroemde keuken hebben en alles wat beweegt dürüm kunnen draaien is iets waar ze geen boodschap aan hebben.
