Nationale Kebabdag. Mooi. Wat zal ik eens gaan doen?
Ik voelde me eigenlijk belabberd; lijkt wel of ik een halve niersteen gaande heb. Niet genoeg om deze heugelijke dag voorbij te laten gaan zonder kebab, wel genoeg om me gisteren ziek te melden.
Mag weleens ook, de laatste keer dat ik wegens ziekte verstek liet gaan op mn werk was ergens in de vorige eeuw.
Goed, om geen lul te zijn combineerde ik wat zaken en toog met mn vriendin naar de bus richting Amsterdam.
We bezochten een kleine expo over de Screaming Hand van Jim Phillips, wat redelijk iconisch was allemaal.
Omdat ik niet had ontbeten, liepen we al snel weer buiten met de kebabradar op volle sterkte.
Er zaten een paar goede zaken in de Ferdinand Bol, maar die staan al op de site.
Ah kijk! een nog niet besproken zaak (voor zover ik weet).
Op dat ‘pleintje’ van de D-Reizen-McDonalds en het begin van de Albert Cuyp markt zit Moes.
Volgehangen met enorme plaatjes van allerlei gerechten, zag dit eruit als een sure shot misser.
De focus lag hier vroeger op shoarma zoals wel vaker. De overgang naar kebab gaat dan vaak de mist in. Waarom? Geen idee.
Kebab doe je er niet even ‘bij’…kebab verdient aandacht en inzet verdomme.
Voor me op tafel werd een bordje geplaatst.
Op dit bord bevonden zich: een pita, een zooi vlees, vier slierten rode ui, twee schijfjes tomaat aan elkaar, een schijfje komkommer en wat ijsbergsla.
Twee flessen saus op tafel en een coca-colaatje erbij, laat het feest beginnen!
Voor ik begin te bombarderen, moet ik kwijt dat ik hongerig was. Dit fuckt met je vermogen eten op de juiste waarde te schatten.
Wat tegenvalt, is natuurlijk die pita…sowieso.
Een pita? Kom op.
Ik propte wat van het groenwerk tussen het vlees, sauste daar overheen met de standaard flessen en begon te nassen.
De sauzen waren standaard; er valt niet al teveel over te typen.
Het vlees was kip en soort van cool. Het had iets kippedij-erigs maar pin me er niet op vast.
Al snel was het hele gerechtje verdwenen in mn smoel en konden we weer verder, maar eerst nog even betalen.
Hahahaha, je gelooft het niet!
Deze gozer vroeg me zeven euro te betalen!
ZEVEN EURO! Voor een pitaatje kip en een blikkie cola!
