Bijdrage van Culater
Vorige week was ik een weekje in het altijd flamboyante Italië, om precies te zijn in Milaan om (beroepsmatig) de EICMA beurs te bezoeken.
M’n vriendin heeft een appartement in Milaan omdat ze nogal veel voor haar werk (ze ontwerpt en maakt, sexy mode) daar vertoefd.
Voordeel is dat ik ook zeker 2 á 3 keer per jaar mee ga, en ik moet zeggen, ’t bevalt me wel daar bij die spaghettivreters.
Gezien het feit dat ik dus al redelijk bekend ben in Milano, dacht ik, we gaan, nu we er toch zijn, gelijk ff op Kebabjacht.
Vorig jaar was ik al eens bij Anatolia Kebab geweest naar aanleiding van hun JoeTjoep filmpje, waarin ze zichzelf aankondigen als de beste kebaperia
van Milaan.
Dus ook nu weer de tramlijn 2 gepakt vanaf het centrum bij “il Duomo” en die brengt je rechtstreeks naar de Via Giambellino waar op nr. 15 Anatolia zit.
Binnengekomen natuurlijk eerst ff goed kijken wat er allemaal op de kaart staat.
Ik negeer dan ook de man achter de toonbank want die begint gelijk te vragen wat ik wil hebben, gelukkig spreekt de vriendin vloeiend Italiaans,
want mij Italiaanse vocabulair is nou niet bepaald uitgebreid te noemen (Pizza, Spaghetti, Fiat, Valentino Rossi, Ferrari, Ducati en dan heb je het wel zo’n beetje gehad
met mijn Italiaanse woordenschat) dus ik laat haar het woord doen.
Ik bestel een broodje Döner met friet, er draaien 2 rollen in de zaak en ik kan kiezen uit kalfs en een combi van kip en kalkoen. Aangezien mijn voorkeur meestal naar kip
uitgaat nemen we die dus.
Het vlees wordt vers van de rol gesneden, het broodje echter is geen Turks brood, maar een rasechte Italiaanse ciabatta,
met de Döner ertussen wordt het dan een “Panino” ik neem, zoals te doen gebruikelijk, alles erop en erin.
Ik krijg een knapperig broodje voorgeschoteld, maar waar is m’n friet???? Het blijkt dat er in het broodje enkele frietjes tussen het vlees en de sla zitten, dat is dus
wat ze in Milaan onder Döner Kebab met friet verstaan :-(
O.k. aanvallen dan maar, het vlees is mals en lekker sappig, de garni bestaat uit sla, tomaat en ui en is overgoten met een iets te waterige saus (knoflook en sambal)
De smaak echter is naar m’n zin. M’n smaakpappillen worden gestreeld met de verschillende smaken van de knoflook, de sambal en een frisse citroensmaak.
ook de smaak van het vlees mag er zijn al had het van mij wel wat meer mogen zijn. De verdeling was niet optimaal, de sla en garni lag voornamelijk bovenop,
dus de eerste happen was het ff goed kijken waar ik m’n tanden inzette. Al met al was het een best smakelijk broodje en dat het hier een ciabatta betrof was zeker geen nadeel.
De prijs was een allesinds redelijke € 3.50 voor dit culinaire werkje, dat mijns inziens toch wel als bovengemiddeld betiteld kan worden.
Van de 5 te verdelen schapen wil er 3 en een halve toekennen.
Dus mochten jullie nog eens in Milaan vertoeven, dan is het zeker de moeite waard om Anatolia op de Via Giambellino nr. 15 een keer met een bezoek te vereren.
