Omdat je niet over een nacht ijs moet gaan om die Zweedse kebabtoko’s onderuit te trappen werden ook de Kebabbers van Kaka Kebab bezocht. Een grappig plaatje met het onderschrift “Kebab med brot” siert de winkelruit en laat dat nou net weergeven waarvoor ik naar dat smerige rothok kom strompelen vanuit mijn stinkende nest in dat gare kutdorp. Aan het plaatje te zien zal deze hut de KoningsSee van even verderop ruimschoots overtreffen. Vol goede moed stap ik dan ook die hut binnen en begroet de aanwezige Kebabber met een Zweedse groet en een glimlach.
De toko is klein en duidelijk gericht op meenemen, terwijl de kebabsoortgenoten van verderop zich duidelijk ook richten op mensen die blijven zitten om de net gekochte waar weg te malen. Heel verstandig van deze Kebabber want die Zweden zijn vaak zo ongelooflijk bezopen dat als ze eenmaal zitten moeilijk weer weg te branden zijn. Een slimme Kebabber dus.
Het doel is duidelijk; kebab med brot. En om mijn bestelling kracht bij te zetten wijs ik nog maar eens op het plaatje dat deze Kebabber heeft opgehangen bij de deur. Zoals een echte Kebabber betaamt weigert ook deze Kebabber echter zich echter meester te maken van de taal van het gastland waarin hij vrolijk aan de spies snijdt en brabbelt hij iets waaruit niemand iets kan opmaken. Dit wordt echter gevolgd door de prijs, 60 kronen, wat zeer correct wordt uitgesproken. Blikje cola erbij en het wordt dus 70 kronen die ik met liefde voor de goede zaak, de kebabreports, voldoe.
Zaken die het communicatiewijs moeten hebben van plaatjes zijn nu eenmaal niet het meest betrouwbaar. En ook vriendelijk lachende mensen kunnen het meest vreselijke met je voorhebben, dat hebben we allemaal kunnen aanschouwen in de beroemde scene in Platoon waarin een glimlachende chinees met een been een dansje doet. Hier is het al niet anders. Ondanks mijn duidelijke gebaren en uitstekende zweeds wanneer het op het bestellen van broodjes met kebab aankomt, begint de Kebabber een grote pizza klaar te maken. Omdat ik me niet wil laten kennen besluit ik me te laten verrassen.
De pizza komt uit de oven en de Kebabber snijdt vrolijk wat vlees vers van de spies. Omdat de bestelbalie ook tot op borsthoogte voorzien is van plaatjes van allerlei gerechten en religieuze gebouwen, is het moeilijk te zien wat de betreffende Kebabber nu allemaal op mijn pizza aan het kwakken is. In ieder geval zwaait hij vrolijk met een spuitbus saus die gelijk lijkt aan die van zijn neef of broer ofzo van de KoningsSee. Nog even oprollen in de folie en voila, iets met kebab. Nog even vraag ik wat voor soort vlees het betreft, dat kan ik prima in het zweeds. Nejnejnej, kebab! Is telkens het antwoord en ik besluit het erbij te laten. De boel is toch al klaar voor consumptie.
Twee minuten later zit ik op de veranda te kijken naar een flinke rol folie. Dat is omdat men waar je ook bent in Borlange nooit verder dan drie minuten van een kebabhut bent, zoveel van die toko’s hebben ze daar staan. Het mag dan niet helemaal zijn wat ik had verwacht naar aanleiding van het plaatje en mijn bestelling, de omvang ziet er goed uit. Tijd voor actie!
Pepertjes, ui, iets van tomaat, verse sla en wat vlees. Dit lijkt zeker de groenvoermaffia van tuincentrum KoningsSee te gaan overtreffen, al betreft het hier een durum, rulle, in plaats van het broodje. Mijn tanden scheuren vrolijk grote stukken uit de kebabrol. Als ik dan niet in Amsterdam kan kebabben, dan lijkt dit de place to be. Met uitzondering van het brood dus. De deceptie laat echter niet lang op zich wachten. Al na enkele happen lijken mijn tanden niet langer het snijwerk van de verscheurende kaken van roofdieren te kunnen evenaren maar lijkt mijn gebit meer een grasmaaier. Ik ben er weer ingetuind.
Tering. Nu snap ik waarom die Zweden zoveel zuipen. En kebab kunnen ze ook beter thuis maken. In de supermarkt hebben ze er zelfs de sauzen voor die die Kebabsukkels niet hebben. Volgende keer in Zweden blijft het bij bier, schnapps en zwemmen in die rotfjord.
