Omdat niemand van de oude garde nog ene reet geeft om deze website, zal ik straks een bericht sturen naar de webmaster dat ik er wel voor wil lappen, aangezien ik toch de enige ben die hier reports dumpt.
Ik wil ook van die 10.000+ bots af in de reacties, maar goed, dat mag iemand met kennis van zaken uitvogelen.

Ik ga elk jaar naar Athene om daar te genieten van het culinaire bombardement aan pitas en whatnot.
Zo ook in 2025, waar ik deze magnifieke stad tweemaal bezocht. Eenmaal voor de start van mijn zomervakantie en de andere keer voor een concert van Terror, de beste hardcoreband van de wereld.
Daar valt over te twisten zoals dat met alles is, MAARRRR…Terror IS gewoon wat hardcore is en wordt wereldwijd geliefd door fans van stagedives en singalongs.
Ik rij tijdens mijn verblijf door de stad in de metro en geniet van alle graffiti en de vele koude flessen bier en Griekse wiet. Er worden broodjes gegeten en sterke verhalen verteld aan wie er ook mee is.
Dag 1 deed ik 24.000 stappen. Doodvermoeiend allemaal, maar priceless zoals dat heet.
Hoocut is bekend van Gordon Ramsey en allerlei griekse tv koks en docu’s die erover zijn gemaakt en ligt echt in hartje centrum. Google het, ik ga geen kaartje hieraan vastplakken want m’n wijf is aan het douchen en ik ga daarna en dan moet ik m’n tas inpakken en naar het station om in Amsterdam te gaan kloten en op de Dappermarkt te eindigen straks.
Deze tent is instafamous want wordt geregeld door drie chef koks die de handen ineen sloegen om de pita gyros naar een hoger niveau te tillen.
Dat klinkt als de zoveelste truffel mayonaise onzin, maar het klopt. Deze gasten hebben een compleet andere manier van gyros en kebabs maken dan andere tenten.
Moet ik dat nou gaan uitleggen? Hmmmm…
Ze maken hun vlees soort van heen dun zodat het supersnel klaar is, dan hakken ze het in barrels met zo’n….zo’n….geen ideeeee hoe dat heet!!! Ik zoek wel een plaatje op ja. Goed idee. Thanks!
Ala, ik was bij deze tent in 2024 ofzo, toen stond ie op de lijst wegens een pita met schaap, oftewel een pita provatina op z’n Grieks.
Ik zag op youtube dat veel griekse vloggers helemaal provatina gingen op verschillende zaken in Athene, dus ik dacht: aha, er is een hausse in het eten van schapen gaande hier, daar moet ik het mijne van weten.
Toen at ik dit broodje op de foto….
Wat erg jolig was, was de groep daar achter op de foto rechts. Een paar echte bros die komen zuipen enzo en dan hebben ze één vriend die helemaal in die genderbende zit, die liep met z’n baard en harige poten in een jurkje en had zich een paar tieten laten aanmeten. Supergrappig. Wel tof dat niemand van z’n gappies hem afzeek ofzo. Nou ja, het zal wel, al die moderne dingen gaan aan mij voorbij, aangezien ik oud ben. En oldschool als in het boeit me geen reet zolang je maar geen chomo bent.
Maar goed, dat was allemaal in september en ik was weer terug eind november voor m’n revanche.
Intussen had ik het hele menu gememoriseerd en wist ik wat me te doen stond, namelijk alles eten dat me aanspreekt en in een pita zit.
Vrij snel stond er een dienblad voor ons met een aantal broodjes erop.
Eén pita worst, tweemaal beef en een PROVATINA knaller.
(volgende keer neem ik de standaard pork pita, sorry)
Wat kan ik ervan zeggen?
Ik vond de beef een ietwat mwah, want er zit een komkommer vinaigrette op die overheerst en dat….was dat.
De worst had teveel pickled cabbage erop…ook dat overheerste teveel wat mij betreft.
Dat is jammer zeg, twee semi-missers.
Gelukkig hebben ze de pita provatina en die kickt echt een heel serieus potje ASS!
Nou zeg ik wel dat die broodjes missers zijn, maar dat zijn ze natuurlijk niet. Er zijn vele broodjes te halen die lager scoren, ik ben verwend.
Het ligt aan dat broodje schaap. Dat is gewoon zo apart en lekker dat je diezelfde hoge standaard bij al die broodjes verwacht.
Godsamme jongens, dat broodje schaap.
Dat is me toch een lekker ding!
Ze hakken dat vlees echt perfect in reepjes die erin glijden als een pakkie in een hongerige neus.
Zeer de moeite waar als je in de buurt bent daaro. Moet ik er nu bij vermelden dat er een andere tent nog geen vijftig meter verderop is die ook op alle lijstjes in de top 3 staat???
Ja, dat moet ik. Dat is Kosta. Niet O Kostas, maar Kosta.
Maar Kosta…die doe ik zo wel. Hoocut gaat het nu om.
Je kan hier gerust heengaan, alleen al voor de ervaring van dat fijngehakte vlees.
