Achter het IBB studentencomplex in Utrecht is een vers winkelcentrum. Vers omdat het zowel erg nieuw is, als dat ze er beheurlijk verse producten verkopen.
Gisteren was ik hier aanwezig om eens kijken of de geruchten over de superieure Jumbo (versus de Albert Heijn) waarheid waren (ze blijken terecht). Tot mijn grote plezier blijkt er ook een nieuwe kebabzaak te zitten; de Has Döner Kebab. Plus ik had honger, dubbel feest!
In mijn sas liep ik naar binnen alwaar mijn kaak spontaan de grond raakte; was dit een kebab zaak?!
Keurig stilo interieurtje waar de modernste hipsters nog geen commentaar op zouden hebben. Prachtige oranje-groene tegeltjes en toonbank, zwarte tafeltjes en stoelen en zelfs een sensuele zwarte bank die de hoek van de zaak mocht versieren. Het geheel werd nog gezelliger gemaakt door wat verspreidde plantjes her en der. Ook kwam er geen einde aan de zaak; de Mythbusters zouden hier zonder moeite een papiertje kunnen opvouwen.
Voor €3,50 heb je een broodje kebab, voor €4,50 een grote, en voor ik meen €6,00 o.i.d. heb je een menu; groot broodje plus wat te drinken. Persoonlijk ging ik voor het kleine broodje. De verkoper gooide een Turks brood onder de gril, en na deze even af te bakken ging er vlees uit de au bain marie ipv van de gestapelde rol op. Jammer. De vraag kwam of ik er ook sla op wilde, gevolgd door de vraag of ik er ook saus bij wilde (met ‘alles’ bedoel ik nog steeds ‘alles’, heren) en na dit allemaal te beamen kreeg ik een dienblad voorgeschoven met daarop een broodje, een servetje, een vorkje en twee flessen saus. Dit alles lag op een keurige papieren placemat met het logo van de zaak er op (wat ik er overigens verdacht veel als een hamburger uit vind zien, maar dat terzijde).
Het kleine broodje was precies dat; klein. Het vlees was kip. De sauzen waren standaard. Verder bestond het groenvoer uit hele verse sla, rode ui, een plakje tomaat en een plakje komkommer. Alles zo vers als de schoongemaakte billetjes van een pasgeboren Turkse baby. Standaard, maar lekker (het broodje, niet de baby).
Toen ik uitgegeten was bedankte ik de verkoper, pakte ik tot zijn zichtbare plezier een menu en ging ik weer op mijn weg.
Deze zaak krijgt 2,5 van de vijf gewassen en getoupeerde schapen.
