Weetje wat? Ik schrijf meteen dat tweede broodje uit Israel van me af!
We gingen met de trein naar Haifa, dat in het noorden ligt. Trein was MAD goedkoop trouwens, maar goed, lekker relevant.
Hele trein vol met lui die zware wapens dragen enzo. Het blijft gewoon vaag. Dit land is niet zo groot en de trein gaat van noord naar zuid en zit aldus vaak vol met reizende soldaten.
Staat er een of andere dikke nerd op slippers op om naar de plee te gaan, klettert met zn M4 vol magazijnen tegen stoelen en shit…niemand kijkt er van op.
Ook hier weer bergen vrouwen in legerpakjes en volop bewapend.
Ik weet niet of ik het nou geil vind of angstaanjagend…ik zit te lullen, ik weet het wel!
Ik dig het. Als hier iemand komt kloten met een bijl of een mes, dan ligt ie in twee tellen vol gaten op de grond en dat trek ik erg goed.
Ik dwaal af geloof ik.
In Haifa aten we een broodje varken trouwens! Iedereen zat een beetje te blowen op terrassen en zich vol te gieten met booze..ja eeeeh, ik voel me thuis.
De volgende dag stond ik op een oude vulkaan, waar in 1187 een hele zooi lui elkaars kop eraf hakten tijdens de Kruistochten. Vette shit, maar geen kebab.
Terug in Tel Aviv had ik trek in een snackie voor het slapen gaan…dus trok ik mn kurze hose aan en stiefelde naar buiten waar ik een aanlokkelijk bord had gezien aan Ben Yehuda, recht tegenover het Isrotel Tower hotel.
Het bord vertelde me dat er ISRAELI SHAWARMA werd verhandeld.
Game on!
(zoals je merkt ga ik hier gewoon shoarma eten, net als dat we gewoon gyros doen in Griekenland…die worstenkebab, die doet iemand anders maar)
Ook hier was de service achterlijk snel en liep ik binnen twee minuten met een topgevuld broodje terug naar mn vriendin.
Hier zat ook tahini in en het was ook weer een knaller.
De hete saus…daar kan je kort over zijn. Die is niet HEET.
Die is leuk pittig, maar je tong ligt niet aan barrels als je er flink induikt.
Verder eeeeh, de geijkte groene ingrediënten en misschien goed om te vermelden: de pita.
Oef. de pita!
Hier maken ze pitas…die zijn echt FUCKING GOED!
Als in: er vallen geen gaten in, ze zijn soepel en gewoon teringgoed.
Ik zie in mn filmpies dat ik zelfs een hele docu over die pitas heb gemaakt zo was ik onder de indruk ervan. Dat is wel effe andere koek dan die klotezooi die je in Nederland ziet.
Al met al was dit broodje vlees weer erg lekker te noemen en ga ik zeker terugkeren voor nog een sessie!
