Tien chef-koks in Turkije hebben vorige week de ultieme koning onder de döner kebab bereid.
De döner kebab van rundvlees met een gewicht van 1198 kg en een lengte van 2,5 meter brak hiermee een Guinness World Record.
Het bouwen
Speciaal voor deze döner kebab werden stevige steigers gebouwd en een kraan neergezet om de chef-koks te helpen bij deze prestatie. De toren werd gemeten door ambtenaren en deze vertelde dat de döner kebab reus twee maal zo groot is als de gemiddelde man en een gewicht had van ongeveer 15 man. Gelukkig konden de kraan en steigers dit aan want ‘een ongeval door döner kebab’ klinkt als een hele slechte krantenkop. :)
Turkije aan de top
Het record voor grootste döner kebab heeft Turkije dan eindelijk na 8 jaar terug. Het vorige record werd namelijk gevestigd in Australië. De Turkse döner kebab is in gewicht bijna twee keer zo zwaar als die van de down-under. We zijn wel benieuwd of ze in Australië hier weer een schepje bovenop gaan doen.
