Een poosje terug zijn we (lees: mijn meisje, zusje, zwager en ik) druk in de weer geweest om een kado te verzinnen voor mijn ouders die beide 60 worden dit jaar. Uiteindelijk uitgekomen bij 3 dagen Efteling met daarbij 2 overnachtingen in het daarbij gelegen nieuwe park ‘Bosrijk’. Dus afgelopen Woensdag was het zover. Mpv wederom vol, het maakt ook niet uit hoelang je weggaat maar met zo’n kleintje is de auto altijd vol, op naar mijn ouders die in het naastgelegen stadje wonen. Daar zijn mijn zusje en zwager reeds aangekomen dus het duurde niet lang voordat we ons met 2 auto’s richting Kaatsheuvel begaven.
Gelijk mogen parkeren op de parkeerplaats voor gasten gelegen bij Bosrijk (deze is gratis ipv de 10 euro die je tegenwoordig bij de ingang betaalt) maar het huisje zullen we pas na 15:00u in mogen. Snel door naar de ingang want als gast van Bosrijk heb je meer privileges waaronder het een half uur eerder mogen betreden van het park. Dus snel naar de atracties waar we heen wilden zodat je geen rij voor je hebt.
Ook in de Efteling zelf bevindt zich een Kebabzaak blijkbaar maar daar zijn we deze dag niet aan toe gekomen (maar later wel natuurlijk) en deze dag bestond de lunch dan ook uit broodjes die meegenomen waren.
Na zo’n beetje alle atracties bezocht te hebben, echt druk was het niet in het park, liep het tegen zessen en werd het tijd richting huisje te gaan waar mijn ouders ondertussen al waren met de kleine man. Tijd om te eten en er was al besloten dat dat deze eerste avond pannekoeken zouden zijn dus alles werd uit de koelkast getrokken en het beslag werd gemaakt, maar het belangrijkste om goeie pannekoeken te maken waren we vergeten, vloeibare bakboter!
Dus op naar de AH in Kaatsheuvel dorp en voordat we bij de deur waren begon het al, ‘als we nu nog boodschappen moeten doen dan eten we om 8 uur ofzo pas’ dus de mobiele telefoon werd erbij gepakt en er werd gegoogled naar pizza, chinees enz. en 1 van de pizzerias was er een inclusief kebab. Bingo!
Dus snel naar de AH zodat we de dag erna wel pannekoeken konden eten, een extra flesje knoflooksaus stond al op het lijstje en door naar ‘Mevlana’ aan de hoofdstraat nr 24 in Kaatsheuvel. Nu kom ik wel vaker bij de Efteling maar Kaatsheuvel zelf was ik nog nooit geweest en het is best een leuk oud aandoend centrum.
Mevlana dus, bij binnenkomst een beetje de kriebels, grote ruimte met achterin de keuken. Grote witte vloertegels en van deur naar bestelpunt 8 a 9 meter, in de rest van deze grote ruimte staat welgeteld 1 tafel met 6 stoeltjes. Ik bestempel dit soort zaakjes meestal als witwaseetgelegenheden. ik ben eerder in zo’n tent geweest in Nieuwegein (de door Delicatesther gerecenseerde bakkerij Mekan op het centrum) het eten was goed maar de verkoper had 1 lange nagel aan z’n pink. 3 man in de keuken, 2 bij de pizzakant bezig en een 3e komt de bestelling opnemen. ‘6 broodjes kebab, heb je lamsvlees?’, de beste man spreekt niet zo goed NL en het kost enige moeite om duidelijk te maken wat ik wil aangezien hij ineens begint over pita, kip en shoarma…. nee nee,…. ja, inderdaad, brood met die lapjes vlees, lamsvlees ja…
Hij snapt het en gaat aan de gang.
Jammer, ik ontdek een rol en daar hangen dikke plakken kip aan. Het lamsvlees komt uit een bak uit de koeling en gaat in 2 pannetjes onder de plafondoven. 2 broodjes gaan in de magnetron, whattefok?, volgens mij had 1 van de pizzabakkers mijn verbaasde gezicht gezien en corrigeerde de man door alle 6 de broodjes in de pizzaoven te leggen. De kriebels nemen toe.
Tijdens het wachten ben ik reeds aantekeningen aan het maken in mn telefoon want ik wil niets vergeten en kijk ik de zaak eens goed door, in de vitrine waar je besteld staan alleen maar blikjes frisdrank maar in de vitrine bij de pizzaoven kan ik wat aan groenvoer ontdekken maar dit lijken mij verder allemaal pizza-ingredienten. Achterin aan de muur hangt het bekende blauwe oog uit Turkije.
Broodjes komen uit de oven en het vlees wordt erbij gepakt. Broodje wordt opengesneden en er gaat een beetje knoflooksaus en sambalsaus op de onderste helft, beetje vlees gaat erbij en tot mijn (volgende) verbazing staat er 1 bak op dat aanrecht met sla en dat gaat erbij, vervolgens nog wat vlees en een beetje knoflooksaus, folie erom en dicht. Meen je dit nou echt?
Volgende broodjes gaan in dezelfde volgorde en na bijna een kwartier verlaat ik de zaak met 6 broodjes kebab, 1 grote zak friet en 2 extra bakjes knoflooksaus maar wel 36 euro lichter wat betekent dat mijn broodjes 5 euro per stuk kosten. Op naar ons huisje en iedereen blij dat ze konden eten maar die blijheid duurde niet lang.
Droge stukken vlees maar wel veel, in totaal zijn er 3 van de 6 broodjes helemaal opgegaan en alleen omdat deze personen echt honger hadden en niet door de fantastische smaak. Wat een flater zeg, mijn zwager zou zich bijna gaan schamen dat hij ook turks is (maar zijn familie kan wel lekker eten bereiden weet ik uit ervaring). Nee dit is zeker niet voor herhaling vatbaar.
Een waardeloos broodje is het enige oordeel wat er te vellen valt, door 6 personen in dit geval.
