Onder grote, vooral Turkse, belangstelling werd zaterdagmiddag de eerste Turkse horecagroothandel van Nederland in Tilburg geopend.
Jilpaq Holding aan de Ledeboerstraat moet volgens algemeen directeur Faruk Halici voornamelijk de ‘dönerkwaliteit in Nederland hoog houden’. Na het verplichte lintje knippen en de rondleiding door de groothandel, onder begeleiding van zo’n acht Turkse fotografen en twee cameraploegen, legde de 32- jarige Halici zijn visie uit.“Er gaat in Nederland elke maand zo’n 900.000 kilo shoarma en dönervlees doorheen. Dat krijgen alle Turken in dit land nooit op. Dat betekent dat heel veel Nederlanders het vlees consumeren. Het is aan ons om de kwaliteit daarvan hoog te houden en met deze groothandel willen we dat bereiken.”
Halici kwam met een nieuw project, genaamd ‘ De draaiende döner’, een plan waarmee hij Nederland wil veroveren. „Ja, geïnspireerd door het draaiend huis.”
De zogenaamde draaiende döner bestaat uit een glazen koepel met een ronde bar. „Eetgelegenheid en kunst. Mooi toch?” valt Ali Yenice, voorzitter van de Ondernemers Vereniging Tilburg, bij. Hij ziet de nieuwe plannen van Faruk Halici wel zitten. „ Ambitie is goed. Er zijn veel meer ondernemers die verder moeten denken dan ze nu doen. Er zijn alleen in Tilburg al 170 Turkse ondernemers. Veel van hen doen hetzelfde. Met deze groothandel willen we ook een boodschap afgeven dat je veel groter kunt denken. Er is nu eenmaal een markt voor. Dat blijkt wel.”
Yenice doelt op het grote aantal belangstellenden dat zich zaterdag heeft verzameld in de groothandel. Voornamelijk om te netwerken, maar ook uit nieuwsgierigheid.
Iedereen proeft en kijkt naar de apparatuur die Jilpaq Holding te bieden heeft. Want naast voeding verkoopt en levert de groothandel ook apparatuur. Alleen voor Turkse ondernemers? „Dat is zeker niet de bedoeling”, reageert Ali Yenice meteen. Wij zijn juist voor integratie. Wij hopen hiermee ook een stap de goede richting in te maken, want iedereen kan hier terecht. Marokkaans, Turks of de Nederlandse horeca; we verkopen tenslotte allemaal dezelfde mayonaise.”
