Een maand of 2 geleden zie ik bij 1 van mijn Finse maatjes op het welbekende Facebook een melding voorbij komen dat er een (voor mij) bekende rapper komt optreden in Helsinki.
Point Blank Van de SPC (Southpark Coalition) uit Houston USA. Voor mij was het duidelijk, ik had een hele goede reden om weer eens naar ‘het land van de duizend meren’ af te reizen.
Het volgende wat ik doe is mijn maatje Noud een mailtje sturen:
M: ‘Kerel, wat dacht je van een concertje Point Blank?’
N: ‘JA man, ik ben down. wanneer is dat?’
M: ’10 Maart,….. ben wel vergeten te melden dat het in Helsinki is’
N: ‘oke,.. ehm, ah f*** it. Ben toch nog nooit in Finland geweest, ik ga mee’
It’s on, Tickets kijken, het is duidelijk dat het geen Spanje is. De goedkope maatschappijen vliegen wel maar niet goedkoop en ook maar 2x in de week. Toch KLM, op zich ook niet zo duur dus dat is snel geregeld.
Hotel geregeld via 1 van de dames in Finland voor een vriendenprijsje en de rest is niet nodig, dat regelen de mensen ter plaatse.
Afgelopen vrijdag was het zover, smorgens op tijd naar Shithol en boeja, die kleine colombiaan piept bij de poortjes. Fouilleren en gelijk fullbody hahahaha..
Ff de taxfreeshops door, ik ben nooit van die zogenaamde goeie aanbiedingen daar maar een literfles Bacardi Reserva voor 15euro is toch echt wel een goeie deal, ook eindigt er een fles Smirnoff Gold in mijn mandje. Mooie regeling daar trouwens, afrekenen en afhalen bij terugkomst, niks sjouwen met flessen drank…
Op naar de Gate. En wat denk je, zitten we bij die rappert in het vliegtuig, dus op het vliegveld ff zitten ouwehoeren met die kerel.
Bij aankomst in Hki lopen we iets te voorbarig een poortje door, dom want nu staan we achter de douane en onze tassen,… ehm.. die staan daarachter ergens op een band. Ergens hangt een telefoon, bel de dame en ze komt een deur open doen, 10 minuten later staan we weer achter de douane, snel bagage van de band. zoeken hoefde niet, er stonden er nog maar 2 op.
Bus richting de stad, en gelijk door naar het Hotel. Een rondje sms om wat dingen te regelen en de stad in. Afgesproken met 2 man daar om in een authentiek Fins restaurant te gaan eten.
Ik bestel Rendiersteak, Noudje besteld…. Ballen berevlees (nee, geen bereballen). Rendier was erg lekker, het berevlees is ongelooflijk sterk van smaak, te sterk.
Daarna de stad in, hier kroeg, daar kroeg… Hotel zoeken, zoeken, zoeken… gevonden. het is een uur of 3, tijd om bij te slapen.
’s Morgens goed ontbijt in het hotel en afgesproken vandaag te gaan voor een fatsoenlijk broodje Kebab. In Forum winkelcentrum zit een tentje. ziet er goed uit, netjes, 3 man in de keuken en erg druk. Moet goed zijn. Eerikin Pippuri Kebab heet die tent.
Het broodje is een Pita met daarin vlees (rund), sla, komkommer, rode ui, tomaat en een pepertje. De saus is een hele milde knoflook en er zit ook nog iets roods in…
Erg veel groenvoer voor een pita Kebab van 5,50 euro. ja, Finland is duur in alles.
Tijdens het eten kan ik niet klagen, heb eerst veel van het konijnenvoer met een vork naar binnen gewerkt, tomaat eruit want dat eet ik niet. maar dan, achter in het broodje komt de rode ‘saus’ voorbij… op zich is de smaak niet slecht als ze het hadden uitgesmeerd en niet een dikke klodder achterin hadden gespoten. Ik zal heel duidelijk zijn waar het naar smaakte: ken je de smaak van zo’n klein blikje tomatenpuree van 7 ct bij de AH?
Juist, erg jammer. broodje, of eigenlijk pita was best ok maar de overheersende smaak van die tomatensaus aan het eind was echt een tegenvaller.
Ik had me zo voorgenomen om een goed report te schrijven uit Finland voor jullie maar helaas. en met nog anderhalve dag te gaan zit het er niet in.
