De laatste tijd vroeg ik me sterk af waarom ik bijdraag aan deze site. Los van de fun van het gezamenlijk afzeiken van slechte producten was er weinig lol aan.
Een commentaar op mijn neersabelen van DC Maastricht was dat ik niet in, maar voor het station had moeten toeslaan.
De eerste poging is mislukt. Ik kwam niet verder dan dat er een twee-assige aanhanger met de naam Dürüm Kebab staat. Als je dat ziet ben je gesjocht, want dan is-ie dicht.
Vandaag was ik weer in Maastricht en zag… een open kebab uitgifte punt. Als de klep open is verdwijnt de naam uit beeld en blijft slechte een kebabber met twee spitten en een rij klanten over. Dürüm Kebab Maastricht blijkt populair.
Wie voor afbraakprijzen een uitbraak broodje wil moet op het station blijven, of liever nog, de suïcide tips van enkele rapporten ter harte nemen. Dürüm Kebab is een middenklasser. Ik was €4,50 kwijt voor een broodje lam-feta.
Op zich lijkt het er in niets op dat je er wat goeds voor krijgt. Standaard broodje, standaard krulsla-komkommer-ui en tomaat en een redelijke hoeveelheid feta. In feite is het broodje een weerspiegeling van de grote geest die de naam van deze tent heeft bedacht.
Wie de foto bekijkt krijgt ook de indruk dat ik gegaan ben voor een vegetarisch broodje.
Vanaf de eerste hap blijkt echter het verschil dat kan worden gemaakt door een professionele kebabber. (Dit in tegenstelling tot de ongeïnteresseerde taakstraffer die (hopelijk) niet bewegende ingrediënten op deegwaar kwakt. Ik laat daarbij in het midden of de taakstraf het gevolg of de oorzaak is)
Wat levert de goede man:
– Groenten: vers,
– Vlees: direct van de rol, die ook niet standaard is,
– Saus: op verzoek en met de optie gratis bij/aan te vullen.
– Broodje: vers en perfect afgebakken.
– Feta veel en in smakelijke brokken.
De verdeling: vanaf de eerste tot de laatste hap helemaal goed. Waar het in zit? Ik denk liefde voor het vak, maar ook de stijl. Het broodje wordt op een roestvrij stalen blad gelegd, waarna met de tang en een zeer soepele polsbeweging de ingrediënten er op verdwijnen. (Dus niet: product in de volle klauw en stouwen maar).
Dürüm Kebab is daarnaast een kraakheldere tent, en daar hou ik wel van. Wie zittend wil eten is €40+ kwijt. Een treinstoel is namelijk de enige optie, en ondanks het geweldig broodje wil ik vanuit Maastricht altijd ASAP weer terug naar de beschaafde wereld.
Als ik het treinkaartje meeweeg kom ik uit op 4 schappen voor deze tent, met een goede kebab kaart en de perfecte polsbeweging. Zij die me hebben getipt: Bedankt!
